Pixelverse has announced a new partnership with mobile game studio Azur Games, known for its vast reach with over 8 billion app downloads and 250 million monthly active users, aiming to transform the Telegram mini-games landscape.
The collaboration revealed on August 8, will introduce a new mobile game featuring Pixelverse characters, enhancing the gaming experience with advanced gameplay features. This partnership seeks to bridge the gap between traditional mobile gaming and the emerging Web3 ecosystem, promising a fresh approach to mini-games on Telegram.
Pixelverse co-founder Kori Leon said that while clicker games are currently trending, the focus will soon shift to other genres. He emphasized the need for game developers to innovate continually with new gameplay and token distribution methods, such as airdrops within the Telegram ecosystem, to keep the community engaged. Leon noted that clicker games might start strong but can quickly become monotonous without ongoing evolution.
Leon also highlighted that success on Telegram depends on leveraging the platform’s social features. He suggested that integrating social mechanics, like rewarding users who post stories with airdrops, can enhance player interaction and engagement, making the gaming experience more dynamic and aligned with Telegram’s unique attributes.
Leon stated that the Pixelverse ecosystem will advance with improved gameplay and deeper Web3 and TON integrations. Blockchain elements will be added for unique transactions and in-game assets, offering players new ways to interact with the game and each other.
Leon advised the “community of farmers” to prioritize gameplay when engaging with Telegram games, emphasizing that while users often play to earn rewards, it’s crucial to manage expectations and time investment.
He noted that in play-to-earn models, players invest time rather than money and should therefore assess their genuine enjoyment of the game before committing. If the game isn’t enjoyable, Leon suggested viewing it as a chance to learn about cryptocurrency rather than focusing solely on financial returns.
