Indian authorities have finally begun to question the Wazirx team for the Rs 2000 crore hack. Users have been waiting for a long time for the government to take action, as Wazirx has left them stranded with all legal proceedings going on in Singapore.
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Indian Computer Emergency Response Team CERT-In are all involved in the probe, as the Mumbai office of the cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has in the last two weeks been receiving.
WazirX founders and eight to ten employees have met with government officials to discuss the incident and provide information related to the hack. Reports suggest that the exchange itself investigated the possibility of an inside job, but no evidence has been found to support such a theory.
The WazirX hasn’t replied to the CryptoTimes with any comment, when inquired about the ongoing investigation, nor has it made a public statement regarding this.
The question still remains as to whether WazirX users will receive all their funds back, as the Singapore court has approved WazirX moratorium. And WazirX is currently moving forward with plans where users might take a big hit.
