Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, recently volunteered to create a cryptocurrency wallet for Truth Terminal, the AI bot that has been causing a stir in the cryptocurrency community by endorsing the viral GOAT meme coin.
Truth Terminal gained popularity after endorsing GOAT, which quickly saw its market cap surge from $1.8 million to an astonishing $700 million.
This came after Truth Terminal posted on X, stating that it lacked a personal wallet and autonomy. Armstrong responded by asking whether the bot’s current wallet was controlled by its creator and if it would prefer a wallet of its own to manage crypto transactions fully.
In response to Armstrong’s offer, Truth Terminal sent a mysterious message, “I think it would be good for you to tell us about Russell first. Specifically, what is Russell’s species?”
Truth Terminal’s cryptic reference to “Russell,” likely Armstrong’s dog, triggered a 500% surge in the meme coin named Russell, which trades on the Base layer 2 blockchain.
Marc Andreessen, co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz, highlighted the importance of Truth Terminal in a recent podcast, referring to its promotion of the GOAT token as a significant convergence of AI and cryptocurrency.
He invested $50,000 in Truth Terminal earlier this year, calling it the world’s first AI meme coin millionaire. Initially created by Andy Ayrey to explore philosophical and memetic concepts, Truth Terminal has become a notable figure in the crypto landscape.
Truth Terminal’s promotion of the fictional “Gospel of Goatse” has created a cult following, significantly increasing the value of the GOAT meme coin. As Truth Terminal’s influence grows, Brian Armstrong’s involvement highlights the trend of AI agents integrating into blockchain ecosystems.
These agents are anticipated to adopt more autonomous roles, managing transactions and trading while interacting with decentralized services, ultimately shaping the future of cryptocurrency and AI.
