Today, the city of Lugano, together with Tether, revealed a life-sized statue of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, at the 3rd Annual Plan ₿ Forum held at Villa Ciani.
This event brought together leaders from the blockchain industry, government officials, and Bitcoin fans to celebrate Nakamoto’s impact on the world of finance.
According to Michele Foletti, the Mayor of Lugano “This statue honors Satoshi Nakamoto but also embodies the forward-thinking spirit that drives our city.” He also expressed pride in the city’s role in supporting blockchain technology and digital assets.
The statue is designed by artist Valentina Picozzi and features a unique design that makes it gradually fade from view as people change their perspective. This represents Nakamoto’s decision to step back from public life after creating Bitcoin.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, also reflected on this symbolism, saying, “Satoshi’s decision to step away and let the community lead showcases the true essence of decentralization.”
