Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot is now free for everyone on X (formerly Twitter). At first, only people who paid for X Premium could use it. But now, anyone can try out Grok 2.0 without needing to pay for a subscription. Users started noticing this change last Friday when they were able to use Grok for free.
The free version lets users send 10 messages every two hours and check out three images per day. Users can also create AI-generated images and upload files or pictures for analysis.
Although xAI hasn’t officially confirmed this update, many X users have noticed the change. Also, Elon Musk had previously hinted that Grok might soon be able to work with PDFs and Word files so users could process documents too.
On top of the free version, Grok might soon have its own app. xAI is thinking about creating a separate app just for Grok, like other popular AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
One of Grok’s interesting features is its ability to create images, thanks to its Flux model. It’s known for making uncensored content. Even with that, Grok is still a powerful alternative to other AI chatbots. Recently, xAI raised $6 billion in funding to upgrade its supercomputer in Memphis, Tennesses and improve AI development.
