The leading crypto exchange, WhiteBIT has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first exchange to obtain a Level 3 certification under the Cryptocurrency Security Standard (CCSS). This accomplishment positions the exchange among top-tier crypto platforms recognized for renowed security.
Issued by the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4), the certification represents a new benchmark in the crypto indusgtry. It is designed to ensure robust protection for cryptocurrency systems.
WhiteBIT’s certification was conducted by Hacken, a cybersecurity firm accredited by C4 to audit organizations for CCSS compliance. The auditing process carried out an extensive review of WhiteBIT’s security infrastructure and in-depth inspections of both cold and hot wallets. It took 3 years of preparation for WhiteBIT and 2.5-month of audit including dozens of hours of interviews with the team.
The final report, containing 97 pages, reflects rigorous testing and hundreds of questions addressed throughout the process. This thorough auditing process ensures full compliance with the stringent requirements of CCSS Level 3.
“This certification is a proof of our strong commitment to safeguarding our users’ assets,” says Volodymyr Nosov, Owner and CEO of WhiteBIT. “In an industry where trust must be earned every day, we have embraced rigorous security protocols that set new benchmarks for excellence.”
The CCSS certification complements existing ICT security frameworks like ISO 27001 and PCI DSS with specific guidance on cryptocurrency security. It includes three levels of certification, with Level 3 representing the highest benchmark.
“Our goal isn’t just to drive innovation but to ensure that these advancements are built on a secure foundation. The CCSS certification underscores our dedication to providing a safer experience for our global user base of over 5.5 million,” Nosov said.
This achievement promotes more significance for WhiteBIT as it march towards mass adoption through trust and transparency. Earlier this year, the exchange also secured the highest level of PCI DSS certification for payment data protection.
