In an era where fears of artificial intelligence (AI) taking away livelihoods are more palpable than ever, an inspiring story from India is turning the script around, where a 10th-grade student has made over 100,000 Indian rupees by building websites for small businesses using AI.
According to a viral post on Reddit, the student nicknamed “Musk” has created and sold eight small business websites in the last two months, which has earned him more than ₹1.5 lakh (approximately $2,000) after putting only ₹2,500 (approximately $30) into the AI tool.

The story went viral on Reddit, where the founder of the AI platform behind the website builder shared how they first noticed Musk’s activity. Reflecting on the experience, the founder remarked, “India is not for beginners, and yesterday, I truly felt it.”
“He was using our platform almost daily, buying credits, and building websites for small businesses. I got curious and checked his profile—turns out, he’s just a school student!” the founder said.
What’s even more impressive is that Musk isn’t a programmer. The founder remarked, “He’s not a coder, just someone creative and curious.” Instead of fearing that AI could take jobs, Musk used it as a tool to earn money by reaching out to local businesses and online communities.
The story defies the concern that AI will replace jobs by demonstrating how humans can use AI to create new opportunities.
The creator also stated, “For all the fear around AI, stories like this prove that humans will always find a way. Especially in India, where hustle and jugaad (innovation through improvisation) are part of who we are.”
