Openai Ceo Sam Altman Hints At Newer Version Of Ghibli Art

Recently, after the launch and massive success of OpenAI’s Image Version 1, Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has shared a hint about the launch of the firm’s Image Version 2.

Sam Altman has shared the hint of it on his X post, stating that, “Y’all are not ready for images v2…”

This Image Version 1 feature was launched in GPT-4o. The feature guaranteed greater quality for pictures created by the AI model. A key feature of GPT-4o is its multi-turn generation capability, which allows users to refine their images through natural conversations.

Further, GPT-4o also utilized its advanced features for understanding the language and images. This advanced feature allows it to create images that incorporate structured text, symbols, and diagrams.

This feature immediately went viral after it included ‘Ghibli Art’ in it. People all over the world started turning their real-life images into Ghibli art. From celebrities and sports personalities to common people, all started creating and paying the company to create a picture of Ghibli art.

The firm has also faced many difficulties, like the company’s GPUs starting to melt. Further, the firm’s CEO, Sam Altman, announced temporary rate limits on image generation, citing overwhelming demand for Ghibli.

But at the top of its trend, many artists on social media are against this art feature and are opposing it. The art feature has created many controversies.

Hayao Miyazaki, the legendary Japanese animator and co-founder of Studio Ghibli, who has created some of Japan’s highest-grossing movies, was the first to criticize such “AI-generated animation”. Two years ago, Miyazaki had severely criticized AI-generated animation, stating that they are “an insult to life.”

Even more recently, several artists on social media have shown their disgust against the recent AI trend, calling it an insult to the life and works of several artists throughout the world.

However, apart from all this, the people are excited for the Image Version 2. It’s a question of what the firm will launch its Image Version 2. Will it also support animated videos?
