The Hyper Foundation has officially increased the number of its nodes to 21 permissionless nodes, meaning that anyone can become a validator on the Hyperliquid network. The first 21 largest validators by stake will now become the active set. This change is a major move toward decentralization and the community’s protection.
The foundation also established its ‘Delegation Program’ to enhance reliability and diversify its structure. Delegations are expected to go live in the next few days. The program is designed to encourage high-quality validators and improve the stability of the Hyperliquid ecosystem in general.
To join, participants must stake a minimum of 10,000 HYPE, which will be locked for one year—even if they don’t make it into the active set. This lockup is designed to encourage serious commitment from validators.
The Foundation highly recommends beginning with the testnet and applying for the Delegation Program before running a mainnet validator. Testnet performance will be used as a reference for delegation on the mainnet.
It is necessary to run two non-validator nodes with uptime of 95%, and static public IP addresses must be made public. These nodes will be used as the initial nodes for the rest of the nodes in the network.
Also, validators must go through the KYC/KYB procedures and meet all the legal requirements. Unfortunately, people from such countries as the U.S., Cuba, Iran, and others are not allowed to participate.
With this launch, Hyperliquid takes another step toward building a more secure, decentralized, and community-powered network. Those serious about contributing to its growth are urged to apply and join the movement.
