Thanks to Shibuya – a non-fungible token-powered video platform co-founded by Emily “Pplpleasr” Yang, the Bruce Lee Estate is venturing into the web3 space through its latest launch.
The Bruce Lee Estate and Emily “Pplpleasr” Yang built an NFT of the renowned martial actor Bruce Lee and then effectively deployed it on the social networking platform on Tuesday. Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter, found the Bruce Lee Estate.
On Tuesday evening, NFT enthusiasts caught a glimpse of Bruce Lee’s NFT via a tweet. The tweet was a classic video clip of the Bruce Lee interview that made the transition to the anime character.
Emily “Pplpleasr” Yang creates a hand-crafted NFT of the legendary martial artist designed by Shannon Lee, and the artwork is titled “House of Lee: Genesis’ NFTs. The NFT is billed as “your ticket to the House of Lee”.
Today at 11 a.m. ET, the Open Edition Ethereum NFT Collection, will be live on the Manifold Marketplace. Fans of Bruce Lee will be able to purchase NFTs with hand-drawn illustrations for 0.008 ETH each, or about $15.
The Manifold Mint website refers to the latest NFT as an admission pass to “Lee’s house”, even though information regarding the NFT’s intended purpose or future plans has yet to be released.
There is buzz among fans that Shibuya is likely to make Bruce Lee videography material adopting the same approach but this is yet to be confirmed.
