The renowned global online retail platform under Alibaba Group, AliExpress, is set to venture into the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with the NFT project “the Moment3!”
This exciting partnership was officially announced on AliExpress’ Twitter account on Thursday, signifying the platform’s expansion into the crypto space. However, the tweet was later deleted from the AliExpress Twitter feed, the only mention can be found on Moment’s Tweet.
On June 25, AliExpress will release a limited edition of 5,555 NFTs, granting customers an opportunity to own unique digital collectibles with additional benefits. “the Moment3!” aims to establish connections with real-world businesses, enabling NFT owners to enjoy exclusive privileges beyond the inherent value of their collectibles.
This development marks AliExpress’ further foray into the crypto industry, following its integration with Shopping.io on May 4. Users can now make purchases on major e-commerce platforms using various cryptocurrencies through AliExpress.Â
Notably, AliExpress recently expanded its cryptocurrency acceptance by adding memecoin Floki to the list on May 31.
AliExpress, headquartered in China, caters exclusively to customers outside mainland China. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese government’s ban on cryptocurrency transactions in September 2021 and their subsequent warnings regarding NFT speculation do not impact AliExpress’ operations.
With the launch of NFTs, AliExpress continues to innovate and provide its global user base with exciting opportunities to engage with the rapidly evolving world of digital assets and collectibles.
